The Legacy

Envisioned by our Chairman & Managing Director, Mr. Murali Malayppan, and the founder of the Shriram Group, Shri. R. Thyagarajan, Shriram Properties Ltd. came into existence. Our goal was to establish a reputable and reliable presence in the organised real estate domain. Recognizing the immense potential in the mid-market segment, we aim to serve it with excellence by offering quality homes at accessible prices, ensuring exceptional value for our customers.

With a portfolio of 44 thoughtfully developed projects spanning over 24.4 million square feet, primarily in Bengaluru, and Chennai, and Kolkata, we've touched countless lives by fostering a sense of belonging. Meet The Visionary

Murali Malayappan, the Chairman and Managing Director of Shriram Properties Limited, started from humble beginnings in rural Tamil Nadu and rose to lead one of South India's most prominent real estate companies. His journey, shaped by compassion and mentorship of his father, Mr. TS Malayappan and Mr. R Thyagarajan, the founder of the Shriram Group, signifies his dedication to social impact and integrity. Mr. Murali Malayappan's leadership philosophy focuses on purposeful business methods and inclusiveness, which define the fundamental principles of Shriram Properties.

Our Journey

  • 2000
    • Commenced operations in Bengaluru.
    • Completed our first residential project in Bengaluru - “Shriram Shriranjani” in September 2000.
  • 2006
    • Project-level investment from Sun Apollo Investment Holdings LLC of ~800 million for a SEZ Project in Chennai (Project: Shriram Gateway) and subsequently exited in 2017.
  • 2007
    • Project-level investment from Walton Street Capital (WSI/WSQI) of ₹2,100 million that eventually got consolidated into the parent company.
    • Project-level investment by Hypo Real Estate Bank International AG of ₹5,590 million for a SEZ project in Chennai (Project: Shriram Gateway) and subsequently exited in 2017.

     

  • 2011
    • Parent company level investment from TPG Asia and WSI/WSQI of ₹3,250 million and ₹2,431 million, respectively.
    • Completed our first residential project in Coimbatore, “Vijaya Hyde Park”, in May 2011.
  • 2012
    • Project-level investment from ASK Real Estate Special Opportunities Fund of ₹839 million in a residential project in Bengaluru (Project: Shriram Chirping Woods) and subsequently exited in 2020.
  • 2014
    • Project-level investments of ₹665 million from India Realty Excellence Fund II LLP in a residential project in Bengaluru (Project: Shriram Greenfield-1).
  • 2016
    • Completed our residential project in Vizag, “Panorama Hills – Block IV,” in September 2016.
  • 2017
    • Sale of SPL share of equity in a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) that holds land located in SEZ in Chennai (Project: Shriram Gateway) to Horus Holdings Pte. Ltd., a Xander Funds Group Company, for ₹3,712 million. Consequently, the Company monetised its holding and also project-level financial investors (Sun Apollo and Hypo) exited in 2018.
  • 2018
    • Project-level investment by Amplus Capital Advisors Private Limited of ₹130 million in a residential project in Bengaluru (Project: Shriram Luxor) and subsequently exited in 2018.
    • Tata Capital Financial Services Limited and Omega TC picked up a stake in the Company from Shriram Venture Limited for ₹4,683 million. 
    • Project-level investment in a residential project at Chennai (Project: Shriram Park63) by Mitsubishi Corporation through its subsidiary, DRI India Company Limited, for a consideration of ₹1,785 million.
    • Completed our residential project in Chennai, “Shriram Temple Bells – Phase 1 & 2”, Completed our first commercial project, “Shriram Gateway”, in Chennai.
  • 2019
    • Entered plotted development under the aegis of “Shriram Earth”. First plotted development project under the DM model launched. Shriram Earth Mysore Road, located off Mysore Road, Bengaluru, spanning across 20 acres.
    • First residential project under the DM Model launched. Shriram Blue in Bengaluru − Project-level investment received from Kotak India Affordable Housing Fund of ₹400 million for the development of an affordable housing project in Kolkata (Project: Shriram Sunshine) with ~2 msf of saleable area and subsequently exited in 2022.
  • 2021
    • Listed as a public company on NSE and BSE.
  • 2022
    • Signed ₹5,000 million Co-Investment platform with ASK Property Fund
    • Awarded the certification of ‘Great Place to Work’.
  • 2023
    • Handed over >2000 units/plots, a new record – Highest ever sales value and volume.
    • CRISIL A - Stable Credit Rating.
  • 2024
    • Handed over ~3,000 units/plots, a new record.
    • Achieved highest-ever sales value, volumes, and collection.
    • Achieved highest-ever revenue recognition.

Our fresh identity mirrors the evolution of Shriram Properties. Today, we have a newfound spirit to embrace our age-old legacy in its entirety and scale greater heights on this path. Our new identity encapsulates the essence of this belief. It displays three progress bars that denote each of the three values as imbibed from our parent, the Shriram Group, which are Trust, Transparency, & Governance. These progress bars also signify our continuous determination to grow as we move forward in all our endeavours.

The sleek golden swoosh, adding a touch of elegance & style, denotes a warm embrace of the philosophy of the Shriram Group. The meaning of the colour Gold is multifaceted, often denoting generosity and compassion, as well as being synonymous with divinity. These two elements come together seamlessly with our brand wordmark and brand tagline to complete the form of our logo.
