As a committed and responsible member of society, I am actively involved in a range of social welfare initiatives. These include assisting the blind, differently-abled individuals, underprivileged children, women, and impoverished elders through voluntary service organisations. Recently, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we at Shriram Properties have also provided support to a large number of migrant construction workers. Likewise, our team has consistently provided support to individuals affected by cyclones, tsunamis, and floods.
At Shriram Properties, we believe in building not just homes but stronger communities. Our renewed commitment with The Akshaya Patra Foundation under PM Poshan enables us to provide 2.63 lakh young dreamers with nutritious mid-day meals, fostering their academic and personal growth.
Since 2016, our collaboration with Akshaya Patra has helped serve wholesome, hygienic and nutritious meals to school children ensuring they never have to learn on an empty stomach. With 23 lakh+ children benefitting daily, we are committed to making a lasting impact - because every meal is a step toward a better future.
Shriram Properties (SPL) embarked on voluntary relief efforts and distributed relief kits comprising foodgrains, clothing, medicines, and daily essentials to over 2,500 families in and around Tambaram (Perungalathur) and Guduvanchery (Perumatunallur) areas of Chennai.
The relief materials were handed over to local authorities, apart from direct distribution to beneficiaries in the neighbourhoods. Over 100 volunteer staff members of Shriram Properties worked relentlessly over 24-30 hours towards timely and successful distribution of relief materials.
The 10th edition of the Bengaluru Marathon was nothing short of spectacular, with more than 25,000 participants taking to the city's streets on October 8, 2023. In addition to the marathon itself, 2023 marked a significant milestone: Shriram Properties' 9-year association with the Bengaluru Marathon. This enduring partnership played a pivotal role in supporting and nurturing the running community, strengthening the bond between the city and this prestigious marathon event.
However, the prep extended beyond & much prior the race day. Shriram Properties embarked on a marathon for a healthier, greener tomorrow during the #GreenInitiativeRun on September 16, 2023. The event was filled with determination, unity, and an unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability.
In collaboration with NEB Sports, Shriram Properties Ltd (SPL) hosted a 5km woof-friendly training run on 30 Sept. 2023, in preparation for the Bengaluru Marathon 2023 (08 Oct'23). The training run hosted at Shriram Pristine Estates in Doddaballapura Main Road, saw over 350 enthusiastic participants, including pet parents. As part of CEED (Collect1ve Employee Engagement Drive), the SPL Bengaluru team, both direct and contracted, joined the run.
We also had the pleasure of hosting 'Urban Animal' and 'Pawasana: Yoga for a Cause' at the event. While, 'Urban Animal' is on a mission to enhance pet health through genetic screening, 'Pawasana' spreads awareness and provides indies with the opportunity to find loving homes.
We at SPL planted 1000 saplings and distributed 1000 earth balls across our offices in all regions. A day filled with joy and a sense of responsibility toward our shared environment! With every sapling we planted, we're nurturing a greener, more sustainable tomorrow for our communities and our planet.
The family at Shriram Properties, formed ‘SPL CEED - Collect1ve Employee Engagement Drive’ that garnered participation from all divisions and regions, reflecting the collaborative effort and commitment of employees towards upholding social obligations and promoting wellbeing, as individuals went above and beyond in the momentous program ‘Wellness through Compassion’.
The first initiative of this drive focused on aiding the less privileged and to become strength, extend care and share moments of happiness to girl children and destitute women.
Shriram Properties (SPL) team marked World Environment Day with eco-friendly projects and awareness campaigns across its regional offices.
Chennai team took the initiative to plant saplings as part of the project Park 63, contributing to the conservation of the environment. The team's dedication did not stop there. They also organized a campaign to raise awareness and combat plastic pollution. Bangalore team at Shriram 107 South East, also showcased their commitment to creating a cleaner and healthier environment.
The Kolkata team at project Grand One & Sunshine One at Shriram Grand City organized environmental pollution training and awareness sessions centered on the slogan "One Earth, One Family, One Future." The campaign to plant trees attracted particular attention and increased understanding of the need to protect the environment.
All regional team's dedication and commitment to environmental conservation served as a reminder that everyone has a role to play in preserving our planet and that small steps taken collectively can lead to significant changes, in protecting the planet we call home.
Shriram Properties has been sponsoring the Bengaluru Marathon for nine years, addressing two significant causes: promoting the Red Ribbon Revolution to eradicate stigma and discrimination against children and youth living with HIV/AIDS and integrating them into the mainstream through sports, enabling them to become state athletes.
